Fifty million users who downloaded Brightest Flashlight Free Android application unless you use the phone as a battery for lighting, inadvertently shared their location with companies that offer advertising. The application has shared the locations of users before they can use, namely the acceptance of the contract of service.
Consequently the Federal Trade Commission initiated apa proceedings against the company, after which application developer GoldenShores Technologies, LLC has agreed a settlement with the Commission. Agreement prohibits the Company misleading to inform users about the data we collect from them and have clearly explained that it would be shared with third-party companies.
"When consumers are presented and real clear choice then they can choose whether the service is worth to share data to use. Flashlight application but does not say how the data will be shared, "said Jessica Rich of the FTC.
