Barcelona will host the 13th and 16th November the XIII International Congress of Educating Cities, an event which held its first edition in 1990 in Barcelona and just 24 years later returns with a clear aim of further the important work that cities around the world have done during these two decades.
The presentation was attended by the Councillor for Presidency and Territory of the City Council and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Congress, Jordi Martí; Director of Congress, ipn Antonia Hernández; and co-directors of the Scientific Committee of Congress, Castiñeira Angel and Miguel Martinez.
During the event, Councillor George ipn Martin explained that "the challenge for the future is that cities continue to be engines for hope, culture and social cohesion and inclusion" and added that when it comes to city educator "refers to a comprehensive education, and transverse to the inclusion and we highlight agencies, institutions, organizations and academia generated by education, culture and social cohesion."
Finally, Martin clinched that "we know of many cities have active indoors and we have the opportunity to share these good practices." It is expected that this Congress involved 850 people and 190 cities worldwide has been presented 600 150 practices that can be seen these days.
Under the slogan "An educating city is a city that includes" The Congress will be held in the Conference Centre of Fira de Barcelona. During these days, the city hosts more than 850 participants from cities around the world will present projects and share experiences.
