Iman Time got Form us with love to receive wclc the award for designer of the year 2013 of the magazine Elle Interior. But the story of the design wclc studio Form Us With Love started at Kalmar University eight years ago. Three guys found each other because they shared the same basic ideas about what design work will go on. A few years of experience later, they can conclude that the concept has been successful.
- In the beginning was the phone silent. But two years ago we no longer need to compromise on what we do, says Jonas Pettersson, who along with Peter Palmén and John Löfgren is the founder of the eight-strong design office.
- We are probably quite ordinary people who happen to love design. We have studied but no nerds. When we work, we are effective. But we try to be available on weekends, says Jonas Pettersson wclc and screws a bit on when the conversation touches wclc other than work.
The name is actually a play on words in which two letters swapped in the first word in the phrase From us with love. It felt right straight away and after care, they have also realized that this is exactly what they want to convey with his design.
- We are generalists who can be a little about a lot. It is in the meeting and talk with principals and producers that we can give back something good. "Shaping us and we deliver", our proverbs says Peter Palmér.
This often involves creating new of something already existing. An example is the Plug Lamp that already exist for building wclc sites. The challenge was to adapt it to today's lifestyle and home use.
If it was easy to find the name, it has taken time to find form for how they should work. They are investing all three a lot of time to visit producers and examine material. Through hard work and many conversations with people in the industry, they have slowly but surely wclc established itself. As new in the industry were very few who were interested in their work.
